015

I kicked my shoes off in the car and slumped down in the back seat. This was going to be one hell of a week. "Where to next?" I asked sounding very uninterested. "That's it for today, I thought we could all go out to dinner tonight, how does that sound?" My mom asked turning around to face me in the car. "Yeah sure, let me call Sidney," I pulled my cellphone out and saw that I had four text messages. 'They didn't kidnap you did they?' from Colby. 'Where did you get your underwear at? I want some for myself, just to stare at.' from Max. 'Got plans for tonight?' from Sidney and then finally. 'Hey, I love you.' from Sid as well. I couldn't help but smile, "Hey do you want it to just be us and Sidney? Or do you want to make it a big thing and maybe invite Mario Lemieux?" I asked knowing my dad wouldn't pass up on that opportunity. "Big thing, definitely, I want to meet your friends," he said after perking up. I couldn't help but laugh. I finally dialed Sidney and he answered after the first ring. "Hey, so my dad wants to meet everyone tonight, which I don't know a whole lot of everyone, so I was hoping you could help me out with that. He really would like it if Mario could be there too," I laughed and Sidney laughed along with me. "Would your dad be offended if we went to the Iron City brewery?" "No, my dad loves to visit other breweries, good call," I laughed. "Well go ahead and call Colby and Max, I will call Mario, the brewery and maybe some of the other guys, okay?" "Yeah sounds good, okay I will talk to you in a few," I smiled just as I was about to hang up the phone. "Avery, I love you." Oh the chills up my spine, gets me every time. "I love you too."

Red or black, I couldn't make up my mind. I turned around and saw a suit lying out on the bed, black suit, white shirt, red tie. Red it is. I slipped into my strapless bra and stepped into my strapless red dress. "Wow." I turned around to see Sidney standing in the doorway in just a towel. "Right back at ya. Hey can you zip me up?" I turned my back to him and pulled my hair away. "As long as I can unzip you later." "Real sly Crosby," I laughed before giving him a kiss. "I will be ready in about fifteen minutes, is that enough time for you?" "Yeah, I just have to pin my hair up real quick and find my sweater, and I will be good to go." I went in my closet and began to toss things around, finally pulling my sweater out. I couldn't hold back the tears. "Babe, what's wrong?" Sidney shouted as he heard me sobbing. I held the blood soaked sweater in my hands. "I'm so sorry this happened to you Sid. I . . ." he cut me off, "Avery, this was not your fault. You can not blame yourself for what happened. I am fine, look at me, I am okay. We are okay. I'm sorry you saw the sweater, I thought for sure everything was cleaned or taken out. It's okay, can you please stop crying so we can enjoy ourselves tonight. Aren't you excited to see your dad fall in love with Mario?" I couldn't help but laugh, he always knew the right thing to say. "Okay, let me just clean myself up a little bit, and we'll go," I smiled before kissing him. It really was my fault.

We pulled up to a very modern looking brewery and I couldn't help but feel disappointed, in my mind breweries are in old buildings, very old looking. We walked through the front doors and it felt more like a martini lounge than anything else. "Reservations under Winters," Sidney smiled to the hostess. Wait let me get a napkin to wipe up her drool. She didn't say anything she just directed us to a private room where half the team was sitting. "You said a few guys," I laughed looking around. "Word spreads fast through us," he laughed as he walked me over to a table where Mario and Nathalie were sitting. "How you feeling kid?" Mario asked as we sat down. "Feeling great, keeping the legs warm, vision is excellent, headache is gone. I'm ready to go," he smiled grabbing my hand underneath the table. I could barely look at Mario after the arguments we had over where Sidney would go after he was released out of the hospital. I didn't want to argue with him at all, I was just voicing to him what Sidney wanted. "Oh, Mr. Lemieux, it is so good to meet you. I'm Jack Winters, Avery's father," my dad shouted nearly from across the room as he hurried his way over to us and shook Mario's hand. "It's nice to meet you Jack, please call me Mario. You brought up quite the daughter, she has a lot of passion in her," Mario smiled looking toward me. I mouthed 'thank you' to him and kissed Sidney. I couldn't believe how Mario and my dad hit it off, it looked like they were old high school buddies catching up on the good times. "Well darling, have you given it any thought?" my mom asked me as I chugged on my beer a bit. "I really need to sit down and think mom, that's a big decision I have to make. I really want to get my PhD, but I also really want my own brewery," I laughed.

After we had dinner everyone mingled into the bar and Colby and I got into a very competitive game of air hockey. After he scored the winning goal I gave him a hug, "hey, you should be able to score goals somewhere right?" "Oh!!! Damn Army she got you there!!" Max yelled pushing him in the arm a little. "Whatever Talbot, at least I don't need pretty looks to make up for my personality." What?! HA HA! "She's the one that insulted you, not me," Max shouted very defensively. I could only shake my head, these guys were just too much. "You look good in that dress, very feminine of you," Max winked at me as I leaned against the air hockey table looking at him. "Thanks Max, you're looking very feminine yourself, I like how your straightened your hair," I smiled trying to hold back my laughter. "I use a chi," he smiled just as Sidney walked up. Max walked up close to Sidney and I and it was then I could tell he was pretty intoxicated from all of the beer he had drank. "Would you two ever, you know, include a third?" he asked looking around to make sure no one was listening in. Sidney immediately began to blush, he was either very embarrassed or completely pissed off that Max would ask such a thing. "Let me guess, if we did, you would want to know if you could be the third?" Sidney asked before laughing. "Well yeah, I mean afterwards I will have to ask for a trade to another team, because I will never be able to look at you naked in the locker room ever again without getting an erection I'm sure," Max explained dead serious. I couldn't help but laugh, this was just too unreal. That would be fucking amazing though. Sidney and Max in my bed at the same time, wow! "You know I'm sure you're better on the ice than in the bed, and I really want a cup and I need your help to do that, so no, I think we will pass," Sidney smiled and Max's excitement on his face disappeared.

All I could do was laugh as Sidney and I got home. "Did Max honestly ask if we would have a threesome with him?" "That's how he is, he's never had a stable relationship in his life," Sidney laughed as he began to kiss my neck. "Sid, I don't know what to do," I moaned and we waddled into the bedroom. "Well, where do you see yourself in ten years?" "A few kids, very relaxed, in a nice house, I don't want to be a stay at home mom though, I want to be doing something that's not stressful," I explained to him as he continued to kiss my neck. "Why don't you do both? Go to school and have the brewery?" "Are you crazy, once I'm in school, I'm neck deep into books all the time, there won't be any time what so ever to run a brewery, that would mean less time with you too though. Maybe I should stay in the family business, it's what I've wanted all my life. The only reason I got so involved with school was because of Riley and my brother," I couldn't help but laugh. I sounded so pathetic. "Are you going to regret not going back to school though?" "I got my masters, which is something my brother never did, so I guess not, and really I could always go back later in life. I just don't know if I will be capable of running a brewery, sure I know everything about the beer and how things work, but management, I would have no idea," I still could only laugh. "Avery Winters, you are an amazing person and I truly believe that you can do anything you put your mind and heart to, if this is what you want to do, you can know that I am going to support you 100%. Whatever it is that you want to do with your life I am going to support you," and then the kisses on my neck continued. "So when I tell you I am going to take your pants off and let you enjoy me taking care of you, you're going to support me?" I looked up at him with a devilish look in my eye. "Oh more than 100%," he moaned as I kneeled down in front of him.
