It felt so good to finally be driving in my Jeep once again. Three weeks without her was far too long, but she was driving just as good as she was eight years ago. I cranked up the radio and quickly turned my iPod to some Gordon Lightfoot, I was in the mood.
The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
and the moon and the stars were a gift you gave
to the night and the empty skies my love
to the night and empty skies
The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth turn in my hand
like the trembling heart of a captive bird
that was there at my command my love
that was there at my command
Oh Sidney, I love you too. I couldn't wait to get home to him. The past few days had been very frustrating for both Sidney and I, I felt like I was in a custody battle with Mario over Sidney. He was doing much better, there was no bleeding anymore, received twenty-four stitches and now only had the symptoms of a concussion. He was in the hospital for two days, and I spent those nights at Colby's. The day after the break-in I had to go back to the house to report what was missing, and to my surprise there was nothing. It was obvious whoever it was was going through my closet, but nothing significant was missing. If there were clothes or shoes missing I didn't notice. Everything valuable to me was still there, I was very confused. The hardest part for me was the giant blood stain right outside of the closet. I wanted to throw up when I saw it, who in their right mind could do something like this? I could feel my heart racing as I pulled into my driveway.
I opened the door and if felt so right to see Sidney relaxing on the new furniture watching the NHL network. I set my purse down in the kitchen and crawled onto the couch with Sidney. "Hey Sid," I said looking up at him as I laid my head down on his lap. "Yeah babe?" he asked brushing the hair out of my face. "I love you." Oh wow, it's out there. "Hey, I love you too," he smiled leaning down and kissing me on the lips. I felt the earth turn in my hand. "So what did you do today?" he asked before flipping through the channels. "I quit my job." I said with a little laugh. "Did you? Why? I thought you loved that job," he couldn't help but laugh either. "I did love it, but I am taking my MCAT in four months, time to start studying. Plus, I have this boyfriend that I just want to sit around and do a whole lot of nothing with." "Oh I can think of a whole lot of nothing we can do," he laughed slipping his hand down my jeans a little. I squirmed a little in his arms. "As much as i would love to take you to the sac right now, can we just relax out here for awhile," I smiled looking up at him. "Of course," he smiled back before continuing to flip through the channels, which landed back on the NHL network. "You know I have an old man crush on EJ Hradek." "Are you shitting me? Can you move? I think I need to go throw up," Sidney said before bursting out into laughter. "Okay so that's Robitaille and Hradek now. Who else was a hottie?" I asked myself looking up at him. "Oh, oh!! Marty Turco!" "I'll let that one slide," he laughed.
I could feel Sidney rubbing my the palm of my hand and I cracked my eyes open. "How long have I been asleep?" I asked shifting around a little bit. "About two hours, you must have had a pretty good dream about Marty Turco, you wouldn't stop moaning in your sleep," he laughed looking down at me. "He let me go five-hole on him," I smiled trying not to laugh. Sidney's eyes grew wide and with one swift movement he picked me up and tossed me over his shoulder. "You beast," I laughed as he walked me into the bedroom. He tossed me down onto the bed and crawled on top of me. "So here's the game plan, I'm going to have sex with you, and you will enjoy it. The rules? You can't pull my hair, it might take the stitches out. Okay ready?" I couldn't control my laughter. This kid is a mad man. He began to slowly undress me as I did him, then I stopped. "Wait, can I scream out Marty's name instead of yours?" "I'm about to give you a giant hickey on your forehead." "Well I guess I don't have to say his name, I can just think it's him." Sidney rolled onto his back and pulled me on top of him. "Oh you know what, that won't work. I'm sure his body isn't as fit as your is, I mean come on, he's a goaltender. And his nose, it would jab into my eye if we kissed, but your nose fits perfectly," I smiled before leaning down and kissing him. "Even though I can't pull on your hair for awhile, Marty keeps his head bald, but I like to grip onto something while kissing you. So let's see his nose would jab me in the eye, and there would be nothing for me to grab onto. I guess he's not as hot as I thought he was." "You are amazing," Sidney smiled before meeting me half way for a very passionate kiss.
I rolled over on the bed and slammed my hand down on my phone. Who the hell is calling so early? Oh it's noon already? Damn he's good. I looked down on the phone and flipped it open, "Hi mom!" "Avery, are you still in bed?" Oh how my mother got to me. "Just taking a nap, I was up pretty late last night. How are you?" "We are doing good, I just wanted to call and let you know that your father and I are coming to visit you." My heart stopped for a moment. "Oh yeah? When are you coming out?" "We fly out first thing tomorrow morning." "Tomorrow!?" I shouted loud enough to wake Sidney up. "Babe, come back to sleep," he moaned wrapping his arm around my waist. "Who's that?" my mom asked and I knew I had to tell her. "Sidney, my boyfriend, the one I told you about, he's kinda slowly moving in," I tightly closed my eyes waiting for her reaction. "Well you're a grown woman now, you can make your own decisions." "Thanks mom, well I better get going, I will see you tomorrow, what time should I expect you?" "Well sadly, there's no non-stop flights out there, so we won't get there until 6 tomorrow night, so we should pull up to your house at about 7 or 8. Okay dear, I have to go see you tomorrow!" With that she hung up the phone and I crawled back into Sidney's arms in complete shock. "Who's coming to see you tomorrow?" he asked whispering into my ear. "My parents," I smiled. He stopped moving and stopped breathing for a few seconds. "Sid!" "Sorry, you're parents are coming? And you told them I'm kinda slowly moving in? Do I need to be worried?" he asked laughing. "No you will be fine, my dad is a hockey encyclopedia so I'm sure he's going to chat your ear off. My mother on the other hand, oh boy. I wonder why they are coming out here." I snuggled into Sidney's arms yanking the comfortable up over us. Oh boy, the kitchen needs to be spotless.
