"Mario!" Taylor shouted jumping into his arms as we walked into the owner's box. We had managed to only miss the first two minutes of the first period, which was very impressive on my part. Sidney thought for sure I would miss the whole first period the way I drove. Because I don't drive like an asshole like he does. "So Trina tells me you picked out a dress!" Nathalie smiled as we sat down next to each other. "I did, I'm actually taking Taylor to go see it tomorrow after the guys leave, you can come along too. Maybe you can help pick out a dress for Taylor, I still don't know what colors we are using, and I'm pretty much leaving it in Taylor's hands as far as what she wants to wear," I explained and there was a little sparkle in Nathalie's eyes. I knew I hit a sweet spot mentioning shopping to her. "I would love to come." It was awesome having my mom in town for that short period of time she was there, but she drove me crazy. Nathalie was a friend to me, and I actually enjoyed shopping with her so I had nothing to worry about.
It was nice to feel like a kid again cheering for the team with Taylor. We joined in on the chants and celebrated each goal the boys scored. After the buzzer sounded and everyone chanted 'Fleury! Fleury!' for his amazing performance in a five to nothing shutout, Taylor and I made our way down to the locker room. "Tay!" Sidney shouted as he ran out of the locker room still in his half gear. "Eww gross Sid, get away from me," she squirmed as he pulled her into a hug. She finally got away and he looked over at me. "Don't even think about it Crosby." "Alright, well give me about fifteen minutes and we can go home." Fifteen minutes? Is he ditching the press tonight? Sure enough fifteen minutes later Sidney walked out of the locker room with a hood pulled up over his head, over a hat and sunglasses on. "You snuck out, can you do that!?" I asked laughing. "It's not everyday I get to celebrate a big win with my two girls!" I gave in and gave Sidney the hug he had been waiting for and we headed out to the parking lot.
We headed back to the house and made ice cream sundaes, complete with cherries on top. "Did you bring your homework with you?" Sidney asked with a mouth full of ice cream. "Yyyeeessss SSSIIIDDD!!!" I couldn't help but laugh as she rolled her eyes at him. "Hey, I don't want mom chewing me out if you didn't," he stated pointing his spoon at her. "So what are you girls doing while I'm gone?" "Well, tomorrow we're going to look at my dress, and then look around for a dress for Tay," I explained before shoveling some ice cream into my mouth. "Your dress? You picked out a dress?" His eyes grew wide. I nodded my head before looking back down at my ice cream. "When do I get to see it?" Taylor started laughing, "on July 11th dork. It's bad luck to see the dress before hand." "Yeah Sid, bad luck!" Now he was the one rolling his eyes.
Sidney was gone before I woke up the next morning, but left me a note telling me to have fun with his sister and to not corrupt her. She's not hanging out with Max for crying out loud! I walked down the hall to the room we put Taylor in and slowly opened the door. She was still fast asleep, hugging onto her lobster. I headed back out and went downstairs to make breakfast. Just as the bacon started sizzling I heard her stomp her feet down the stairs. "Sid left me a note to take a picture of you in your dress on my phone and send it to him," she explained as she rubbing her eyes with hands still trying to wake up. "Did he now? Well we can do that, we'll have to find a super ugly dress and send it to him," I smiled at her and she laughed. After breakfast and showers, Taylor and I headed to the Lemieux's to pick up Nathalie.
I felt like a princess when I slipped into my dress. I took a moment to compose myself before I stepped outside. I took a deep breath then stepped outside of the dressing room. "Avery you look gorgeous!!" Taylor nearly shouted as she jumped up and walked around me. I turned and looked at Nathalie and she was crying. "Nat!" I laughed trying to hold back my own tears. "Oh Avery, you can understand right when I say I feel like I'm gaining you as a daughter-in-law. Sidney has been like a son to me, I am so happy for you two!" She pulled me into a hug and the water gates opened full force. After we calmed down a bit we started looking at veils and I felt like I was being attacked by lace, taffeta and tulle. "What is this?" I smiled as I pulled out an ivory wedding dress with a huge bow on the bust. "That's our one ugly dress, our owner believes we should have at least one." This is PERFECT!! I quickly changed into it and told Taylor to take a few pictures of me in it and send it to Sidney. Hopefully he would figure out that it's suppose to be a joke!
While looking through dresses for Taylor, Sidney called me. "So, um, are we having a theme wedding or something? Like 80's?" I held my hand over my phone and started laughing. I finally calmed down a bit to answer him, "no, why?" "Oh, just wondering. Um, you guys having fun?" I continued to laugh, "yeah, we're having a blast! Just trying to find a dress for Taylor now." "Oh, okay." Does he honestly think that's my dress? "Hey Sid." "Yeah babe." "That's not my dress." "OH THANK GOD!!" I laughed a little bit harder, he sounded so relieved. Did he honestly think I would marry him with a huge bow on my chest and shoulder pads that made me look like a hockey player? "That's what you get for trying to see what my dress looks like!" "That brat, she ratted on out!" After I ended my conversation with Sidney I started looking through dresses. I came across a beautiful teal colored halter top dress, with black ribbon wrapped around the waist. "Taylor do you like this one?" She turned around and looked at me and her eyes light up when she saw the dress. After she put it on, we were sold, it was perfect. "We're kinda gonna match Avery!" she giggled as she carried it out of the store. Best maid of honor ever!

Awww that was so cute!
And I love that she sent him an ugly dress - it would've been funny to see his look of confusion on their wedding day when she wasn't wearing the ugly dress!
